Bullet flat shade / 150 / brass is made by heating heavy cast brass to 1200-1300 degrees and cooling it in the mold. The cast creates small bumps in the surface that are carefully polished for a smooth finish. The dull, shiny silver color is produced by applying lacquer, then aluminum powder and baking it. Repeating this process produces the unique texture. The 150mm this shade looks like it floats in the air when the bulb is lit.
